黄色app Celebrates Wellbeing Week

12 September to the 18 September was Wellbeing Week at 黄色app where the theme this semester was celebrating diversity.

The week began with an eloquent and thought provoking speech from the President of the Intercollegiate Queer Committee (ICQC), Claire Bostock, about the rights and mental health of LGBTIQ students at College and across the University. It helped raise awareness about ongoing discrimination and what young people can do to help create equality.

The evening continued with a fabulous charity concert hosted by Tiger Tones and other a-Capella groups from Trinity and the University. The concert successfully raised $1500 for the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) program.

Another highlight of the week was the fantastic cultural dancing from our Indigenous students prior to Formal Hall and the Q & A panel that followed hosted by four of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students Alexandra Hohoi, Douglas Briggs, Eloise Bentley and Neerim Callope. It was an eye-opening and powerful experience. It was not only educational, but has since led to further conversations about reconciliation.

The week also included a great event between the Pathways School and the Residential College. 20 Foundation Studies students joined the Residential College for dinner on Thursday 15 September for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The students were hosted by Residential College students, to get the 鈥渞eal鈥 experience of Formal Hall. Zuc Zuy Nguyen, spoke brilliantly at dinner about what Mid-Autumn Festival is and how he would normally celebrate back in his hometown in Vietnam. The Residential College students then went to join in the other festivities in the Gateway building organised by The Revd Lisa Saunders and her student committee.

黄色app Nurse, Emily Dawson, who was responsible for organising Wellbeing Week said the feedback from both the Pathways School and Residential College has been very positive.

'It was great to see everyone mingling, having a good time and for some trying mooncakes for the first time. The feedback from both the Residential and Foundation Studies students was fantastic and we hope it will be the start of many more joint activities'.
