Celebrating the spirit of volunteering in the College community, the evening recognised ongoing efforts of Trinity students within local community organisations.

The event raised money for Teachabout and The River Nile Learning Centre, two organisations that Trinity students are actively engaged in.

The night included musical entertainment, live and silent auctions, and an address by Viv Benjamin, CEO of Oaktree, Australia鈥檚 largest youth-run organisation.

Viv emphasised the importance of youth activism and engagement.

Alumna Laura Chalk (TC 2008) also spoke to students about the Teachabout program, and shared insights from her experience working in the non-profit sector as manager of the NGO.

鈥淭he Outreach Gala Dinner is a great opportunity to celebrate community outreach and activism at Trinity,鈥 Community Representative, Miranda Gronow (3rd year Arts) said.

鈥淢any residents volunteer up to three hours every week, and 17 Trinitarians just completed Oaktree鈥檚 Live Below the Line Campaign. It's a really important part of residential life."
